on may 10, one 325000dwt vloc with hull no.8 built for sk shipping had the keel-laying ceremony and one 300000 dwt vlcc with hull no.83 built for china merchants group had the undocking ceremony. deng changlian, vice general manager of dsic, attended the ceremony for the vloc.
the vloc, as a new product of dsic, has one lng fuel tank at the aft of cargo hold area and is given the class notation of lng ready for main engine, generator engines and boiler. in addition, the vessel is fitted with one open type desulfurizer for exhaust of m/e and g/e.
the vlcc has a highly efficient in-dock building utilizing the building experiences from a series of vlccs by the shipyard. in dock, the gas tightness test for ballast tanks and cargo holds had been finished, and the loading test of g/es and the start test of emergency g/e had been submitted to ship owner and surveyor for the inspection.
