no. 3 8800 teu container vessel “mediterranean. meline” was named and delivered by dsic to mediterranean shipping company on 16th july. chen yongyi, the deputy general manager of dsic, attended the naming and delivery ceremony.
dsic adopted an unconventional measure for erection and proposed a new building method of “jumping-forward erection” for erection of no.3 vessel. the production organization focused on stability instead of speed, and dsic has been implementing strictly its precision management requirements, doesn’t sacrifice quality while efficiency is improved, and controls strictly the erection data of each block, and the one-time pass rate for container test is above 98%, and has been highly recognized by the shipowner. during construction of tanks and chambers, dsic has been strengthening the control of iron outfitting quality and integrity of ballast tank pipelines, arranging the construction sequence according to the delivery schedule and organizing reasonably staff to make breakthrough for key and difficult projects to ensure “no residual item” delivery for dry tanks. during sea trial, the one-time pass rate for water pressure test in ballast tanks reaches 100%, and parameters of navigation speed, oil consumption and tail shaft temperature are controlled in a reasonable range, and make it possible for earlier delivery by ten days.
