according to the management measures on statistics of dsic’s first and after declaration and confirmation, three new first were added in 2018: the first one is the ship kaili, which is the world's first vlcc equipped with sails; the second one is the ship cosco gemini, which is the china's largest container ship; and the third one is that two large destroyers are launched on the same day, which is the first time in china. now, the number of dsic’s first amounts to 84. on 13th november, 2018, the ship kaili, which is the world’s first 308,000-ton vlcc equipped with sails, built by dsic for china merchants energy shipping co., ltd was successfully delivered. this is a major innovation result of close cooperation between domestic shipbuilding and shipping industry, and is another major breakthrough of vlcc brand jointly created by dsic and merchants energy shipping co., ltd. it marks that the domestic r&d team led by dsic has successfully mastered the key technologies of the r&d, design, manufacturing and application of the airfoil sail, and completed the engineering application of installing the sail device on vlcc with high quality, filling the international blank. on 10th april, 2018, china's largest container carrier, cosco gemini, which was built by dsic for cosco shipping, was successfully delivered, marking that china's construction of ultra-large container ships has entered the first rank in the world. this ship is the first container ship that adopts domestic anti-cracking steel in china. after the first ship was put into operation for 2 months, it obtained the captain's letter of commendation and passed the european psc inspection, as well as pollution prevention and other special environmental protection inspection. on 3rd july, 2018, dsic created a magnificent feat in the history of military construction in china, i.e. it is the first time that the two new 10,000-ton guided-missile destroyers were launched on the same day. during the construction of this product, all the departments worked together closely according to the policy of unified planning, fine management and precision construction, adopted the modern shipbuilding management mode of space separation and time order, realized the key nodes and wrote a new chapter for dsic as the cradle of naval vessels.
