on july 13, the second 85,000m3 very large ethane ethylene carrier (vlec)built by dsic for jhw company returned from sea trial triumph during which all the trial tasks were completed in only 3 days, and its performance indexes were highly appraised by the shipowner.
successful sea trial
the ship left port for trial at 10 am on july 10, and all the test items were submitted for inspection at 22:00 on july 12, with the total test time of 60 hours.
overcoming the impact of the epidemic
in the first half of the year, with the active cooperation and strong support of the ship owner and inspectors, dsic has overcome many unfavorable conditions, such as shortage of manpower and failure of overseas service providers to arrive at the factory on schedule during the epidemic period. in only 20 days, dsic completed a series of major works such as the main engines, shaft generators, steering engines, empty ship weighing and so on.
shorten the trial period
during the sea trial, the project team and commissioning group have overcome the difficulties by formulating a complete trial plan, combining the similar terms reasonably according to the working conditions and requirements of various tests, so as to realize seamless connection of each test with the ship owner and inspectors. based on various measures, the total test time was reduced from the original plan of 108 hours to 60 hours,which shortened the trial period. all test items have been inspected and accepted by the shipowner at one time, and the qualified rate is 100%.
