on february 26, dsic held the signing and naming ceremony for the delivery of no. 90 very large crude oil carrier(vlcc). general manager of cosco shipping energy, mr. zhu maijin, and leaders of dsic, mr. deng changlian and mr. zhang yuhuan attended the ceremony. the representatives of both sides signed on the delivery certificate, and ms. che hongsong named the ship "yuan fu yang".
this ship is a new generation of energy-saving and environment-friendly 300,000dwt vlcc tailored for customers, with total length of about 333m, width of 60m, maximum carrying capacity of about 319,000 tons and a range of more than 26,000 nautical miles, which can sail around the world.
considering the limited water depth of malacca strait and corresponding restrictions on the draft requirement and passage time of navigable ships, the design draft of the ship is set at 20.5m to meet the water depth limit of navigation in malacca strait. the ship can normally load 2.2 million barrels of crude oil and directly pass through malacca strait in most of the time, which improves operation efficiency for the ship owner with excellent environmental performance.
the biggest highlight of this ship is energy saving and environment protection. the fuel consumption of the main engine is reduced by more than 3% compared with the previous generation of vlcc, which greatly reduces the operation cost for the ship owner. the content of nitrogen oxides in the exhaust gas emitted by the main engine is lower than the international standard of 3.4g/kwh, which effectively reduces the pollution of acid substances in the exhaust gas to natural environment and has excellent environment protection performance. straight bow shape line is adopted on the ship, which improves the sailing performance in waves. at the same time, the large diameter propeller and energy-saving guide wheel in front of the propeller are designed specially for the shape line and main engine, which further improves the energy-saving index of the ship.
it only took 63 days for this ship to be launched and ready for delivery, creating the shortest underwater cycle record for the same type of ship in recent years. |
