on august 25, dsic held a naming & delivery ceremony for the 3rd 55k dwt chemical/product carrier constructed for singapore-based imc group, which is her 31st vessel constructed for imc. dsic dgm deng changlian attended the ceremony.
the 55k dwt chemical/product carrier is the existing world largest iko ii wide-beam chemical carrier developed and constructed for imc by dsic. the shiptype features in large tank capacity, big deadweight, fine comfort and strong port suitability. this design takes over the idea of environment protection and energy saving to notably improve ship rapidity and reduce daily f.o. consumption through hull form optimization, wartsila smart m/e adoption, and overall design of high-efficiency propeller and pre-shrouded vanes and rudder fins, whose rapidity has reached the world advanced level, and eedi is 32% lower than the base value to attain the phase3 level.
during construction of the project, it only takes 40 days to have completed the works of special coating in strict accordance with the schedule, which has set a record of the shortest period in the serial vessels. in the sea trial, all cargo oil tank stripping testa and tank washing piping fresh water flushing works have been finished, whose sea trial integrity has set a new high, favorably ready for smooth delivery of the vessel.
